Programming, Introduction to Python Summer Camp, August 1-5, 2016

Introduction to Python Summer Camp, August 1-5, 2016, 1-4pm for 5-7 grade students.
This camp provides an introduction to programming using Python. It is designed for motivated children with little or no experience with programming. During the one week camp, students will learn the basic concepts of Python and create programs designed to solidify their foundation in programming.

All 5-8th grade students are welcome to register for these camps.
Students have to have their laptops.

TEACHER OF THIS CAMP

Shailaja ("Shai") Venkatsubramanyan is a Professor at the Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) | College of Business, San Jose State University. Shai has a Ph.D. in MIS from the University of Arizona. She has worked at Price Waterhouse (Mumbai, India), Tulane University, and Kanisa (a Silicon Valley Knowledge Management startup). Recognized as a Master Teacher in the College of Business, Shai enjoys interacting with students from various backgrounds. She has taught the capstone MIS course, Strategic Information Systems, Web based Technologies, and Accounting Information Systems. Her research involves information retrieval, search engine valuation, web log analysis, impact of online information on impression formation, study of electronic medical records, and valuation of mobile applications. Her current work focuses on creation of mobile apps for STEM education.

Additionally, Shailaja is a mother of two wonderful children, a 6th grade boy and a 4th grade girl. She has great experience teaching younger students.
