Rental Housing Committee Recruitment Begins In Mountain View

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – The City of Mountain View is now accepting applications for the Rental Housing Committee created under Measure V, also known as the Community Stabilization and Fair Rent Act (CSFRA), through 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
In addition, the City will hold informational meetings for tenants and landlords starting mid-December.
Per voter-approved Measure V, the Committee will be made up of five volunteers and one alternate, who are charged with the task of implementing Measure V including, establishing the rules and enforcement of the CSFRA, setting rents at fair and equitable levels and determining the annual general rent adjustment.

Of those Committee members appointed, no more than two members may own or manage any rental properties, be realtors or be developers.

In addition, City staff will hold four upcoming informational sessions about CSFRA and the recently Council-adopted Urgency Ordinance on Just Cause Eviction provisions.
Tenants can learn more about it on Monday, Dec. 12 and Thursday, Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mountain View Senior Center (266 Escuela Ave.). Landlords can learn more about CSFRA on Monday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Adobe Building (157 Moffett Blvd.) or Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mountain View Senior Center (266 Escuela Ave.).
Additionally, “office hours” will be available twice a week (Mondays 11am-1pm and Thursdays 12PM-2PM) on a walk-in basis at City Hall beginning Nov. 28 to provide information or to help answer questions.
Office hours will be located on the first floor of City Hall in the Public Works Department.
