Smashing Entertainment Lineup on the Linked-In Concert Stage at Mountain View Art and Wine Festival, September 12-13

Downtown Mountain View is always buzzing with activity, energy and a great vibe.

At this year’s Mountain View Art & Wine Festival on September 12-13, cool, walkable Castro Street takes it to a whole new level with a fantastic lineup of thirteen stellar Bay Area’s bands … topped off by the return of the sizzling, can’t miss “Salsa Sunday” on the Linked-In Concert Stage in Civic Center Plaza.

Enjoy classic rock, mash-up mastery, funk, soul and, of course, salsa on the stages, and consult the map for wildly talented artists playing music from around the world at various places around the festival. “Salsa Sunday” starts off on high heat with the Pacific Soul Band, followed by two Bay Area Latin music favorites, Orquesta Borinquen and Ruckatan Latin Tribe.

The Lyin I’s, an Eagles tribute band, will start your Saturday off with a peaceful, easy feeling. Their beautiful melodies and honey-dripping harmonies set the perfect tone for two days of music, art, and wine tasting in downtown Mountain View.

Still like that old time rock and roll? Get to the stage at 1:30 for the Old School Rock-N-Roll band. Decked out in ‘60s retro chic, they unlock the vault with the best of the ’60s from Mama Cass to the Yardbirds. Come and immerse yourself in the feel-good melodies of that peace-loving era.

The Peelers mix, mash and merge fun, danceable hits, creating their own unique extended jams. They are possibly the first cover band to keep audiences guessing with their DJ-style genre-bending surprises. Think a mash-up of Michael J. to Gaga to Eurythmics to Usher… or country crooner Tim McGraw segueing into T.I.’s bouncy hip-hop beat. Their refreshing twists on your favorites will keep you burning up the dance floor.

“Salsa Sunday” starts off on high heat with the Pacific Soul Band, the Bay Area’s premier party group. The 10-piece lineup includes six singers who deliver funk, soul, R&B, old school, pop, Top 40 and today’s hits with unstoppable energy.

Driven by a masterful rhythmic percussion section, Orquestra Borinquen is a 10-piece powerhouse of talent that has set the Bay Area salsa scene on fire. With a 4-piece horn section reminiscent of Tower of Power and Earth, Wind & Fire, these music masters move seamlessly between salsa dura and salsa romantica with complete authenticity. Come and enjoy their wide-ranging artistry.

Keep the party going with the dance-oriented rhythms of Ruckatan Latin Tribe. The 7-piece Latin and Reggae-fusion band delivers rich feel-good songs that will melt all your cares away with their unique blend of Latin, Caribbean and World beats.

STREET PERFORMER LOCATIONS

Throughout the weekend, these Bay Area favorites will entertain and inspire in various hot spots as festivalgoers stroll down the 8-blockstretch of Castro Street. Find them on the map and enjoy their worldly music.

Ancient Winds (Evelyn Ave.)
This Ecuadorian quintet plays traditional and contemporary folk music of the Andes. The family group is led by Jose Cabezas who hand-carves all of the flutes and composes many of the haunting and spritely songs.

John Clarke Trio (Villa St.)
This eclectic trio met while all three were playing their own music on the streets of San Francisco. Through their mutual admiration of each other’s skills, they decided to form a group and the rest is history. John Clarke master of the acoustic nylon string guitar plays classical and Spanish-style guitar, Josh Mellinger plays Cajon and Rob Hansen plays the violin.

Bob Culbertson (Dana St.)
With over 30 years playing the Stick and more than 100,000 albums sold, Bob Culbertson delivers a masterful blend of light jazz, folk, blues and Spanish-influenced classical, contemporary and traditional music.

The GroWiser Band (California St.)
Hubert Emerson leads this soulful, uplifting group. His son, taught at aged 3, plays drums, and his daughter, Eve, plays the piano and sings when she’s not studying for her sixth grade classes. Sought-after sideman and bandleader, Joe Lococo, wields the guitar and Sahar Miller rounds out the melodies with her saxophone.

Mike Fair (Church St.)
Feel the rhythm and join in the fun with Mike Fair’s drum circle. The rhythm master plays hand drums from Africa and the Middle East and he will have a few extra drums available, but people are encouraged to bring their own. The circle will be based on Fair’s principles of “drumming from within,” a concept he developed to help others understand rhythm and connect with their source and their soul’s healing frequencies.

Aryeh Frankfurter (Church St.)
Renowned harpist Aryeh Frankfurter’s arrangements of classic Celtic folk songs are deeply emotive and masterfully played and have captivated his audience at every performance.

HeartStrings Music (High School Way)
Al Fabrizio and his partner Hugo Wainzinger of Heartstrings Music are sure to touch hearts with their beautiful string ensemble, featuring Fabrizio’s expressive “tremolo” style on the Neapolitan mandolin.
