SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — An investigation into a fatal officer-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon in Sunnyvale was continuing Tuesday evening, officials with the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said. The shooting happened at about 1 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 500 block of E. Weddell Drive, near Fair Oaks Avenue.

As officers arrived at the scene, they found a female stabbing victim, Sunnyvale DPS Capt. Jeff Hunter said.

Officers soon identified a male suspect in the stabbing and as they made contact with him, he was allegedly uncooperative and still armed with a knife, Hunter said.
