SWAT Team Responds To Domestic Dispute In Mountain View: Police

Breaking: Nearby residents were asked to shelter in place during the incident early Sunday.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- A man and woman were arrested Sunday morning in Mountain View after they allegedly refused for more than five hours to come out of a home following an alleged domestic dispute, prompting police to send a SWAT team and crisis negotiators to the scene for the safety of those involved and the residents of surrounding homes, police said.

The incident at a home in the 700 block of Hope Street began at about 4 a.m. Sunday because someone called to say there was a fight at the residence. When police arrived they allegedly could hear the two screaming inside the home. Police allege that the pair would not come out or talk to them.

This prompted police to close Hope Street between Church Street and Yosemite Avenue. Neighbors were asked to shelter in place.
