Travel Guide and Mt. View High Class of '66 Grad Hosts Swiss Alps Presentation

At the MV library, René Welti will share insights on hiking, trains and day trips for aspiring Alpine visitors.

From the Mountain View Public Library:

Everyone from aspiring Alpine hikers to armchair travelers, will enjoy seeing what there is to explore in Switzerland. This multi-media presentation will showcase Swiss sights and culture.

Presenter René Welti will share insights on getting around, from planning your own hiking trips to taking advantage of public transportation and trains.
René Welti is a Mountain View High School Grad (class of 1966). His background bridges Swiss and American culture. Born in Basel with 16th century Swiss heritage, he immigrated with his family to North America when he was 3 and landed in the Santa Clara Valley during his formative years.

His more than 40 years in travel has been divided between Switzerland and the US, and includes work with airlines, destinations, hotels, and travel companies.

René recently founded ECHO Trails, a day hike and tours company based in Lucerne, Switzerland. Last year he spent over 100 days hiking & guiding people in Switzerland.
