Woman Accused Of Beating Mother, 81, To Death With Hammer In Sunnyvale
The 50-year-old daughter called 911 to report the murder at the mobile home the two shared, police said.

A woman was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of beating her mother to death with a hammer in the Sunnyvale home that they shared, according to police.
Police said they were called to the Plaza del Ray mobile home park at 1225 Vienna Drive, Space 292, at around 12:49 p.m. Thursday on a report of a possible homicide.
When they arrived they found resident Anne Frances Smith, 81, dead inside a mobile home where she lived with her daughter, Linde Adrienne Smith, with blunt force injuries from a hammer that was found at the scene.

Linde Smith, 50, had called 911 to report the murder and was unarmed and cooperative when officers arrived on the scene, police said. She was detained and later arrested.
Detectives have learned there was an argument that might have led to the homicide, but are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Anne Smithās death.

This is the first homicide in Sunnyvale this year, according to police.
