1 Shot In French Valley As Neighborly Dispute Turns Violent: Sheriff's Dept.

BREAKING: Police have closed off an area roadway as they investigate.

FRENCH VALLEY, CA — A man has been hospitalized with a gunshot wound after a dispute with a neighbor turned violent Friday in French Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department tells Patch. The man, who was shot sometime mid-morning, is expected to survive, according to Sheriff's Deputy Mike Vasquez.

The incident was reported at 10:45 a.m. in the 38000 block of Talavera Court, according to Vasquez. That's near the area of Pourroy and Murrieta Hot Springs roads.

"We received report of possible argument between neighbors," Vasquez said, adding that responding deputies found an injured man "... suffering from apparent gunshot wound."

Vasquez said that authorities are still on scene investigating, but they believe they have "all the involved parties" detained at this time. There is no threat to the public, he said. No schools were locked down as a result of the shooting, he added.

The injured man was taken to an area hospital with the non-life threatening wound, Vasquez said.
