11th Annual Murrieta Rod Run Starts Friday: What To Know When You Go

Murrieta's 11th Rod Run will support the Oak Grove Center, whose mission is to rebuild the lives of at-risk children and their families.

MURRIETA, CA — The weather should be perfect on Friday to start the 11th Annual Murrieta Rod Run this weekend. The annual event, hosted by the Drifters Car Club of Southern California, runs Friday and Saturday in Downtown Murrieta, drawing 500 classic cars in an effort to raise funds for at-risk youth.

The Murrieta Rod Run includes a Friday Night Cruise from 4 – 8 p.m. and a Saturday Show and Shine from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

The event is family-friendly and free to the public, a spokesperson for the Rod Run confirmed.

In 2023, there will be complimentary parking with a shuttle service available at Centerpoint Church off Washington and Kalmia.

At the event, spectators can enjoy browsing vendors, food, music and viewing beautifully restored classic cars, they said.

"The Murrieta Rod Run is a fundraiser to benefit at-risk and special-needs youth of Oak Grove Center in Murrieta," according to a recent news release. "Past Murrieta Rod Run events have helped fund Oak Grove’s baseball field, outdoor Leadership Camp, school field trips, vocational and culinary training, music camp for the autism program and science and technology, including robotics equipment."

Over the years, the Murrieta Rod Run has raised over $350,000 for charity.

In 2023, they will lift up the Oak Grove Center, a nonprofit residential, education and treatment center (with multiple campuses) for children throughout California struggling with psychological, emotional and behavioral problems and special needs.

Oak Grove Center’s mission is to rebuild the lives of at-risk children and their families through education, healing, restoring relationships, building character and instilling hope.
