215 Freeway Jammed Through Menifee Due To Downed Line

Traffic was backed up in both directions.

MENIFEE, CA — Both directions of traffic on Interstate 215 in Menifee were backed up Tuesday afternoon due to an apparent downed line.

The incident was reported at approximately 1:30 p.m. near Newport Road.

Witnesses told the California Highway Patrol that a northbound semi truck towing a manufactured home snagged at least one line from a pole.

There were no immediate reports of sparking or injuries, and it's unclear whether the line was carrying electricity.

The semi-truck driver pulled over.

Traffic was jammed in both directions as of 2 p.m.
