'Aggressive Fire Attack' Knocks Down Murrieta Fire

Fire officials say they were able to quickly knock down the blaze at a local home.

Murrieta, CA— Murrieta fire officials are crediting a quick and aggressive response with stopping the spread of a local house fire.

The fire was reported at 5:34 a.m. in the 38000 block of Via Taffia, according to Murrieta Deputy Fire Chief David Lantzer.

"The initial unit arriving on scene reported smoke from the garage," Lantzer said in a news release. "An aggressive fire attack resulted in a quick knock down of the fire, which saved the remainder of the residence."

It's not yet known what sparked the blaze, but Murrieta Fire Marshal Jason Briley "...was requested to the scene for investigation purposes," according to Lantzer.

No one was injured in the fire, he said.
