All Southbound I-15 Lanes To Close This Weekend In Corona

The full closure just north of the 91 Freeway will begin at 9 p.m. Friday and last through 5 a.m. Monday.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — All lanes on southbound Interstate 15, just north of state Route 91 in Corona, will close this weekend for construction work, the Riverside County Transportation Commission announced.

The full 56-hour closure is needed for the RCTC’s 15/91 Express Lanes Connector Project. Crews will be placing support structures over the I-15 this weekend in order to build the connector between the 15 Express Lanes and the 91 Express Lanes, according to the RCTC.

Motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time or avoid southbound Interstate 15 just north of the 91 in Corona, the agency said. The closure includes the southbound 15 Express Lanes from Route 60 to the 15/91 Interchange, as well as southbound I-15 onramps at Second Street and Hidden Valley Parkway in Norco. The southbound 15/westbound 91 connector will remain open. All northbound I-15 lanes, including northbound 15 Express Lanes, will also be open, according to the RCTC.
