MURRIETA, CA — The Riverside County Probation Department will continue leasing a large office building on the Murrieta outskirts, per approval on Tuesday by the county Board of Supervisors.
Without comment, the board unanimously approved a five-year lease agreement with Los Angeles-based Silverhawk Business Ctr., LLC, for the 13,592-square-foot building at 30123 Technology Drive.
The facility houses the existing Murrieta Probation Office, which serves adults and juveniles. It is located near the intersection of Murrieta Hot Springs and Winchester roads.
The probation department has leased the facility since 2012, and, over the years, the agreement has been extended.
The current lease is set to expire in June.
Under the new terms, the county will pay $27,184 per month, totaling $326,208 annually. The cost increase is 3.055.84 per month compared with the agreement that is set to lapse. The new contract also calls for 2% annual increases beginning April 12, 2027.
According to county documents, the Technology Drive location "continues to meet the operational needs of the Probation Department and supports the delivery of programs and services to clients within the community."
The location also provides "an important public benefit to the community by serving their clients and effectively improving public safety," according to county documents. "Remaining in this location provides consistency for clients and eliminates any impacts on the area’s residents."
The county probation department has 12 field offices, including two in Murrieta: the Technology Drive facility and another at the Southwest Justice Center on Auld Road.
