HEMET, CA — Detectives Tuesday were seeking the public's help identifying a suspect or suspects in the fatal attack on a Hemet resident during a suspected burglary.

The agency said 911 dispatchers received calls of a possible active burglary at a house, and patrol officers converged on the location minutes later.

"When officers arrived at the scene, they located a male down in the front yard, suffering from multiple lacerations and stab wounds," according to the police department.

The victim, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was taken to a regional trauma center for treatment, but died that morning.

No suspects have been identified.

The police Investigations Bureau was asking anyone with information that might aid detectives in developing leads to call 951-765-2426.
