Traffic Signal Outage Snarling Traffic At Winchester, Murrieta Hot Springs Roads

MURRIETA, CA — An intersection in Murrieta was malfunctioning on Wednesday morning, California Highway Patrol Dispatch Operators shared.

As of 10 a.m., the turn signals at the intersection of Murrieta Hot Springs and Winchester roads were not cycling.

"The turn signals were never turning green," according to dispatch. Disgruntled drivers were "turning anyway," and vehicles were "running red lights, causing near traffic collisions in the intersection."

There was no immediate word on what caused the malfunction.
