Murrieta Fire Officials Advise Residents To Reduce Fire Risk After Blaze

The fire was reported around 5 p.m. near Wild Flower Road and Fox Run Court.

MURRIETA, CA — Fire officials are reminding residents that as summer approaches, higher temperatures increase the risk of fires after firefighters extinguished a blaze in Murrieta on Wednesday.

The fire was reported just after 5 p.m. near Wild Flower Road and Fox Run Court in an open space, according to the Murrieta Fire & Rescue Department.

After fire crews arrived, they found a small space of burning grass, which was knocked down by 5:16 p.m.

No structures were damaged and no evacuations were issued.

Fire officials said potential evacuations were initially monitored for homes on Country Walk and Wild Flower, but the fire was controlled before any evacuations were necessary.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Murrieta Fire & Rescue encouraged residents to maintain a defensible space around their homes by removing dry brush and weeds to reduce fire risks.
