MURRIETA, CA — It's that time of year again! The Murrieta's 55th Annual Father's Day Car Show is returning, and signups are open, officials say. The Father’s Day weekend event will feature classic cars, specialty vehicles, live music, vendors, awards and family-friendly activities.
Vehicle registration is still open for the event, set for Saturday, June 20, at Cal Oaks Sports Park, located at 40600 California Oaks Road, in Murrieta. The car show is one of the city's longest-running community traditions, bringing families, car owners, and local vendors together for a low-cost weekend event.
Vehicle registration is $30 per vehicle, and the first 300 registered participants will receive an event T-shirt, according to the city. No day-of vehicle registration will be available.
Registered vehicles must enter the event at 1 p.m. and be in place by 3:30 p.m. to qualify for judging. Categories include pre-1980 vehicles and specialty vehicles.
This year, the event will also include Murrieta’s second annual Hot Wheels & Matchbox Car Show for children ages 5 to 12.
"Kids may enter a favorite Hot Wheels or Matchbox car for a chance to win Best in Show, which will be decided by audience vote," a spokesperson for the event shared.
The kids' contest costs $1 to enter, cash only. Registration for the Hot Wheels & Matchbox Car Show will take place at the event from 4 to 5 p.m.
Come out to celebrate Father’s Day and support the city's family-friendly gathering at one of the city’s prettiest parks.
