RivCo Organization Named 'Nonprofit Of The Year' For Assembly District 63

Every year, assemblymembers and state Senators honor a Nonprofit of the Year for their district.

MURRIETA, CA — Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) in Murrieta was named "Nonprofit of the Year" for Assembly District 63 an event at the state capitol on Wednesday.

AFV, based in Wildomar, provides animal control and shelter services for the cities of Murrieta and Menifee through a partnership.

The City of Murrieta congratulated AFV on its Facebook on Tuesday, a day before the organization was expected to be presented an award in Sacramento.

"The work you do for animals like our friend Kong is incredibly important and the City is proud to partner with you," city officials said Wednesday on Facebook.

The organization was selected by Assemblywoman Natasha Johnson, who made the announcement last month.

"The work Animal Friends of the Valleys does for animals across the communities they serve is nothing short of inspiring," Johnson said in a news release.

"Their compassion, dedicated staff and volunteers, and commitment to providing a safe haven for all animals reflect the very best of our community. As an animal lover, I am deeply grateful for their dedication and proud to recognize the impact they make every day in Assembly District 63," she added.
