2 Dogs Found Dead Following Winchester Fire

WINCHESTER, CA — A small vegetation fire broke out Monday and extended to a double-wide mobile home, with two dogs found dead near the property in the unincorporated area of Winchester.

The blaze was reported at 8:27 a.m. in the 30700 block of Eucalyptus Road, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency stated that crews held the fire to roughly a half-acre at 9:07 a.m., but the blaze spread to a residence and threatened a nearby garage and an RV.

Animal Control officials were requested at the scene to assist with the two deceased canines. It was unclear the circumstances behind their deaths. Additionally, Southern California Edison crews were called to the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
