MURRIETA, CA — Murrieta Fire & Rescue's Emergency Communications Center earned Accredited Center of Excellence status — a recognition that places the city among the best ranking emergency medical dispatch centers in the world, fire officials announced on Wednesday.
Accredited Center of Excellence recognizes emergency medical dispatch personnel for quality assurance, training, and continuous improvement, according to Murrieta Fire & Rescue. The accreditation status is determined by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch.
"The accreditation process requires agencies to undergo an extensive independent evaluation and demonstrate sustained compliance with rigorous performance, quality assurance, and training standards," fire officials said.
Murrieta Fire & Rescue's Emergency Communications Center ranks 18th in the state of California and 379th worldwide, fire officials said.
"It reflects our team's unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care from the very first moments of every 9-1-1 call," fire officials said.
"Before firefighters and paramedics arrive on scene, our dispatchers are already making a difference by gathering critical information, providing lifesaving instructions, and coordinating the right resources when seconds matter," they added.
