MURRIETA, CA — Access will be restricted during the night and early morning for motorists trying to enter the Murrieta Plaza shopping center as construction crews continue working on a pocket lane, the city announced on Tuesday.

Detours have been established for motorists to use from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. as work continues near Alta Murrieta Drive and Hot Springs Road.

Motorists were advised to use detours and three other access points into the shopping center, including:

The construction work is near the area where a widening project is expected to expand Murrieta Hot Springs Road from four lanes to six lanes between east Via Princesa and Del Haven Street with the project spanning Margarita Road to Winchester Road, which the city announced last year.

The city has not announced when access restrictions to the shopping center will end.
