MORENO VALLEY, CA — The coroner's bureau has identified the 65-year-old Menifee man who died over the weekend following a four-vehicle crash in Moreno Valley that also left three other people critically injured.
David Betts, 65, of Menifee, was pronounced dead just after 7 p.m. Friday at Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
Deputies responded around 5:54 p.m. to the intersection of Iris Avenue and Lasselle Street, where they found four vehicles with major collision damage, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Paramedics transported four people in critical condition to hospitals; Betts did not survive.
The Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Authorities said it remains unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
