MURRIETA, CA — The City of Murrieta is looking for volunteers to help with its annual Murrieta Field of Honor event held in Town Square Park.
During this year's event, 2,026 flags will be flown to honor veterans and military service members, first responders, and teachers, the city announced on Tuesday.
"This living display of heroism will fly as a patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans. We invite families and friends from all over the region to walk this Field of Honor and sponsor a flag to be flown in honor of a loved one — a member of the armed forces, law enforcement, an emergency first responder or a personal hero," the city said.
Volunteers can be individuals, families, corporate and organizational groups, and high school students who can fulfill community service hours by contributing to the event.
The 2026 Murrieta Field of Honor is organized by City of Murrieta in partnership with Rotary Club of Murrieta and Rotary Club of Old Town Temecula.
The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 15.
