Police say the driver, a 52-year-old woman, tried to swerve and immediately stopped to help, and investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.
2. Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Hit-And-Run Crash Injuring Deputy In Murrieta (patch.com subscription) — A Riverside County sheriff's deputy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning at Winchester and Murrieta Hot Springs roads, a major Murrieta intersection many locals use daily. Investigators believe the 68-year-old driver was under the influence of drugs, and he now faces a felony hit-and-run charge with a court date set at the Murrieta Southwest Justice Center.
3. Huanglongbing Quarantine Expands in Riverside and San Diego Counties (calfruitandveg.com) — State agriculture officials have expanded the citrus greening (Huanglongbing) quarantine in the Murrieta area, tightening rules on how citrus plants and fruit can be moved. If you grow citrus trees at home or run an orchard, this change could affect what you're allowed to transport and gives you a short window to appeal the new boundaries.
