RIVERSIDE, CA — The 13th annual Excellence Through Education Conference will begin Wednesday in Riverside, bringing educators together for two days of speakers, student performances, wellness activities and networking.
The conference will be held Wednesday and Thursday at the Riverside Convention Center, 3637 Fifth St., under the theme "Creating Possibilities: Imagining More. Designing Better. Measuring What Matters," according to the Riverside County Office of Education.
"Our theme is a call to action for the education community: to create unlimited possibilities for our students, we must imagine new ways to serve, design better systems, and ensure that student success is what matters most," County Superintendent of Schools Edwin Gomez said last week.
Scheduled speakers include consultant and author Tommie Mabry; former superintendent and university professor Candy Singh; Ernesto Mejia, an expert on parental engagement and founder of the youth engagement company CoolSpeak; and actor, producer, director and arts advocate Tony Plana.
The conference will also include student performances, wellness activities and networking opportunities.
