The new on-site complex is intended to replace an aging off-site garage, speeding repairs and improving security for the station's fleet that patrols I-15 and a 3,800-square-mile area.

Jury Selection Underway At Southwest Justice Center In Fatal DUI Collision Trial (patch.com) β Murrieta residents are seeing a high-profile DUI murder case unfold at the Southwest Justice Center, where jury selection has begun for a Coachella man accused in a 2023 crash that killed one young man and injured his brother. Prosecutors say he was intoxicated and speeding when his BMW struck a Toyota Camry, and the case was recently transferred from Indio to be tried locally.

Memorial Set Up For 13-Year-Old Boy Fatally Struck In Menifee; Temecula Woman Arrested After Pursuit (patch.com) β Murrieta's Southwest Justice Center will host the first court appearance for a Temecula woman accused of homicide after a police pursuit in Menifee that killed 13-year-old Cody Valentino Garcia Villatoro as he rode his e-bike home from school. While Menifee neighbors gather at a growing roadside memorial and support his family through a fundraiser, investigators continue seeking witnesses and video of the incident.

Man Accused Of Killing Wildomar Woman Makes First Court Appearance (patch.com) β A homicide suspect in the killing of a Wildomar senior has now appeared in Murrieta's Southwest Justice Center, where a judge appointed a public defender and set formal arraignment for Sept. 29. The 52-year-old Wildomar man remains held without bail as Riverside County investigators continue building their case in the 2025 death, which was first flagged as suspicious at the victim's home near Bundy Canyon Road.

Wolfpack gridders come back to defeat Rams in final seconds (myvalleynews.com) β Vista Murrieta football fans saw a heartbreaker on September 11 as the Rams lost at home to Great Oak, 37β34, after a dramatic final-seconds comeback. The Wolfpack erased a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit at Vista Murrieta High School, tying the game with a late touchdown pass before an extra point and last-play safety sealed the road win.
