MURRIETA, CA — Murrieta residents who want to show their love for the spookiest day of the year have an opportunity now that the city has opened registration for Halloween Home Decorating Contest.
According to the city, not every house that enters the contest has to be scary; there are multiple categories participants can win, including:
• Scariest
• Best Theme
• Most Original
• Most Family-Friendly
• People's Choice
• City's Choice
After the city has received all of the submissions, it will share a map with the public displaying the homes that have participated in this year's contest.
The contest is only available to homes located within the city limits.
Registration for the Murrieta Halloween Home Decorating Contest is free. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, Oct. 7.
