Today's riddle: What do an island and the letter "t" have in common? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Holiday Blanket Drive Begins, Donations Sought To Benefit Southwest RivCo, Murrieta-Area Seniors (patch.com subscription) — A holiday blanket drive based at the Murrieta Postal Center is collecting new blankets through Dec. 10 to be delivered with hot meals to local seniors on Christmas Day. Organizers are also seeking volunteers to help with deliveries, offering Murrieta-area residents a hands-on way to support older neighbors who may be isolated or facing financial and health challenges.
2. Blaze Burns Hillside on South End of Menifee (mynewsla.com) — Fire crews, including Murrieta Fire & Rescue, quickly contained a brush fire that burned nearly five acres on a hillside at the south end of Menifee near Garbani Road and Pitman Lane. Flames were moving slowly, no structures were threatened, and firefighters used hose lines and an earlier burn scar as a natural fire break while investigators work to determine the cause.
3. Blood donors offered free blood testing at 3 Inland Empire and Orange County sites (pressenterprise.com) — LifeStream Blood Bank's Murrieta donor center will soon offer free preventive blood testing to donors through a new partnership with Goodlabs, aiming to boost both local blood supplies and residents' access to health information. Murrieta donors can book appointments, choose from several test panels without insurance or a doctor's note, and receive digital results while supporting critical blood needs in Southern California.
4. RivCo Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Minor In Murrieta Arrested: Sheriff (patch.com subscription) — Authorities say a Jurupa Valley man has been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a minor at a Murrieta residence earlier this year. Investigators used search warrants and an undercover online operation to identify and arrest the suspect, and they believe additional victims may exist, urging anyone with information to contact the Southwest Station.
5. Carson Mumford Signs through 2029 (vitalmx.com) — From Murrieta, AEO Powersports announced that SuperMotocross rider Carson Mumford has signed a contract extension keeping him with the team through the 2028 and 2029 seasons. The long-term deal gives the Murrieta-based program a stable lead rider as it expands technical resources, partnerships, and future racing plans over the coming years.
