A man told officers that his roommate had pointed a firearm at him during an argument. The resident had exited the home before officers arrived, and police confirmed an assault with a deadly weapon had occurred, police said.

Officers learned that the suspect, identified as Micah Allen, and two other residents remained inside the home. Police established a perimeter and ordered the occupants to exit, police said.

One person left, but Allen and another resident remained inside, police said. The Southwest Cities Special Weapons and Tactics team was activated and took control of the scene.

SWAT personnel continued making announcements and eventually evacuated a person inside the home who was not involved, police said.

After several hours of negotiations, Allen surrendered at the front door and was taken into custody without further incident, police said.

Allen was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center, police said.

No additional information was immediately available.
