What is your educational background?
I graduated from Vista Murrieta High School and earned my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California Baptist University in 2021.
What is your occupation?
I am a construction project management professional with experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Civil Design Engineer. I also co-own Dominion Coffee Roasters, a local specialty coffee business, with my wife.
Briefly tell us about your family.
My wife, April, and I have been married for five years, and together we own and operate Dominion Coffee Roasters. My family moved frequently due to my father's service in the Marine Corps before eventually settling in Murrieta when I was in fifth grade. Growing up here gave me a place to call home and instilled in me a deep appreciation for our community. Now, April and I look forward to putting down roots, starting our family, and building our future in the city we love.
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No.
What is your age?
27.
Do you have previous experience in public office, appointive or elective?
No.
Why are you seeking this office?
Murrieta is where my family settled after years of moving during my father's military service. I grew up here, graduated from Vista Murrieta High School, and proudly call this community home.
As a husband, small-business owner, and construction project management professional, I bring experience in infrastructure development, business operations, and financial responsibility.
I'm seeking this office because I want to contribute to Murrieta's future, listen to residents, and address the challenges facing our growing community. My priorities include responsible development, public safety, economic opportunity, and fiscal accountability.
My guiding principle is simple: Preserve What We Love. Build What's Next.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The single most pressing issue is managing Murrieta's growth while preserving our quality of life.
As our community grows, we must address infrastructure, traffic, housing affordability, public safety, and economic opportunity. These issues require thoughtful planning that considers both current residents and future generations.
I would emphasize responsible infrastructure development, fiscal accountability, and meaningful community input to ensure growth aligns with Murrieta's long-term needs.
If applicable, what are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
(No response)
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
(No response)
What more can the city do to support local businesses and increase tax revenue?
As a small-business owner, I've experienced firsthand how helpful Murrieta's city staff can be. I'd like to continue simplifying the permitting process, attracting new businesses, and encouraging residents to pursue entrepreneurship.
I want to ensure development of the Golden Triangle stays on track while also exploring opportunities to revitalize Historic Downtown Murrieta. I envision a vibrant, family-friendly downtown where residents can enjoy lunch, grab coffee or ice cream, and spend time together while supporting local businesses.
My goal is to encourage economic development that creates jobs, expands our tax base, and preserves Murrieta's family-oriented character. When local businesses succeed, our entire community benefits.
What types of public safety issues can be better addressed in the city?
Public safety involves prevention, preparedness, and maintaining safe neighborhoods. My priorities include neighborhood safety, traffic safety, emergency preparedness, and ensuring our police and fire departments have the resources necessary to serve our growing community.
I also support stronger communication between residents and public safety agencies, expanded youth recreation opportunities, and proactive traffic planning as Murrieta continues to develop.
What could the city do to improve wildfire prevention?
Wildfire prevention requires cooperation between residents, property owners, emergency responders, and neighboring jurisdictions.
I support continued vegetation management, defensible-space education, improved emergency communication, and regular evaluation of evacuation routes.
As Murrieta grows, we must also consider wildfire risks when planning new developments and ensure our infrastructure supports effective emergency response.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Beyond responsible growth and public safety, my priorities include supporting local businesses, improving infrastructure, increasing government transparency, and expanding recreational opportunities for young people.
As someone who grew up in Murrieta and hopes to continue building a future here, I'm particularly interested in addressing housing affordability and creating opportunities for the next generation to establish roots in our community.
I also believe residents deserve accessible local government, responsible management of taxpayer resources, and meaningful opportunities to participate in decisions affecting their neighborhoods.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My professional background includes experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Civil Design Engineer. Throughout my career, I've contributed to construction projects with a combined value of nearly $100 million, including major public infrastructure and federal government projects.
These projects include the Brownfield Border Patrol Station, the 1,2,3-TCP Removal Treatment Plant in Chino Hills, the Carbon Canyon Water Recycling Facility Improvement Project, and the P508 Floating Dry Dock Mooring Facility at Naval Base San Diego.
These projects have given me experience with complex infrastructure, budgets, schedules, problem-solving, and coordination among multiple stakeholders.
Additionally, my wife and I founded Dominion Coffee Roasters in 2022. Operating a small business has taught me financial responsibility, adaptability, and the challenges local entrepreneurs face.
My engineering background, construction experience, and small-business ownership have provided practical skills that I would bring to public service.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
The best advice I've received came from my father: "Have a plan, but never fall in love with that plan."
He taught me that preparation is important, but so is the ability to adapt when circumstances change. That advice has guided me throughout my professional and personal life, reminding me to remain flexible, find solutions, and stay focused on getting the job done.
