(Another) SWR Sex Offender Arrested: Man Accused Of Molestation
For the second time this week, the sheriff's department has announced the arrest of a convicted sex offender suspected of a recent assault.

MURRIETA, CA — A registered sex offender accused of sexually assaulting a French Valley girl and her older sister was being held without bail Thursday. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced the arrest of Michael James Camilleri, 42, of Winchester on Thursday.
Camileri's arrest comes just one day after the arrest of another sex offender in the region. In that case, a man is suspected of sexually assaulting a young child in Temecula.
According to sheriff's officials, a woman reported on Wednesday that Camilleri — who is her ex-boyfriend — molested her 14-year-old daughter.

"The incidents occurred throughout various points over the past couple of years and while the family lived on the 31000 block of Jan Steen Court in French Valley," the sheriff's department said in a news release.
While detectives were gathering information in the case, the girl's sister -- now 23 years old -- alleged that she, too, had been sexually assaulted by the suspect during an encounter with him at a Murrieta residence several years earlier, according to the sheriff's department.

Detectives tracked the 6-foot, 250-pound convicted felon to a business at the intersection of Cement Plant Road and Rancho Avenue in Colton, where he was questioned and taken into custody without a struggle.
According to court records, Camilleri has a 1997 conviction for lewd acts on a minor, for which he served two years in state prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
He was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of rape, forced oral copulation of a minor, forcible lewd acts on a child under 14 years old and being a habitual offender.
Under California Penal Code section 290, sex registrants are required to keep a current address on file with law enforcement and notify authorities whenever they relocate. They're also generally prohibited from loitering where children gather and working in jobs in which they have routine contact with minors.
