Average Price of Gas Near Murrieta Now $2.47
The dropping pump prices are the result of the drop of wholesale gasoline prices to their lowest amount since December 2008.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped Tuesday to its lowest amount since May 14, 2009, decreasing 1 cent to $2.467.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has dropped 14 consecutive days, decreasing 17.5 cents, including three-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 10.2 cents less than one week ago, 27 cents lower than one month ago and $1.155 below what it was one year ago.

The dropping pump prices are the result of the drop of wholesale gasoline prices to their lowest amount since December 2008, said Jeffrey Spring, the corporate communications manager of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
