MURRIETA, CA — Summer is winding down for Murrieta Valley Unified School District families, with students slated to return to class for the 2026-27 school year on Monday, Aug. 10.
The first day of school is listed as a modified day for many TVUSD students.
Here are key dates and bell times families should know before the new school year begins.
First Day Of School
The first day of school for Murrieta Valley Unified students is Monday, Aug. 10, 2026.
Families enrolling a new student for the 2026-27 school year are encouraged to complete enrollment through the district’s online Aeries system. MVUSD says new student enrollment applications should be submitted by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, to help ensure enrollment is finalized before the first day of school.
Returning families must also complete the Aeries Parent Portal Annual Data and Document Confirmation before teacher assignments and student schedules are released.
MVUSD Bell Times
Murrieta Valley Unified School District individual school sites state that, due to safety concerns, district schools do not publish school hours or bell schedules on school websites.
Students, parents and guardians can obtain bell schedules directly from their school office.
Families should check with their individual campus for regular day, minimum day, late-start, TK/kindergarten, alternative school and special-program schedules.

Graduation dates for individual high schools are typically announced by each campus closer to the school year's end. Families should check with Murrieta Valley High School, Murrieta Mesa High School, Vista Murrieta High School, or their student's campus for commencement details.

MVUSD says enrollment for the 2026-27 school year is ongoing.
Students enrolling for the 2026-27 school year will be assigned to their neighborhood school. Families can use the district’s school locator tool to confirm their assigned campus or verify that their address is within MVUSD boundaries.
Monthly bus passes for the 2026-27 school year are also available for purchase through the district’s transportation page.

Families can also check with their individual campuses for school supply lists, pickup and drop-off instructions, school business days and device insurance information.
