UPDATE: Big Rig Crash Closes Clinton Keith Road In Murrieta
The roadway was shuttered for approximately 4 hours as police investigated.
MURRIETA, CA — A crash involving a big rig forced a 4-hour closure Thursday of Clinton Keith Road at Murrieta Oaks Avenue in both directions, Murrieta police said.
It's unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash that was reported around 9 a.m. just west of Interstate 215, but police radio chatter indicated at least one person suffered major injuries and photos from the scene showed a white SUV in the wreckage.
A fuel spill was also reported.
At 1:16 p.m., Murrieta police said the roadway was reopened.
Murrieta police urged motorists to remember that big rigs cannot stop like cars can. The same goes for pickup trucks hauling trailers, as well as RVs.
