Blaze Chars Space at Corona Golf Course
The "Eagle Fire" was reported about 1:30 p.m. near the parking lot to the Eagle Glen Golf Club.
CORONA, CA - A fire that broke out Monday at a Corona golf course scorched about an acre before crews got it under control.
The "Eagle Fire" was reported about 1:30 p.m. near the parking lot to the Eagle Glen Golf Club at 1800 Eagle Glen Parkway, off of Sandtrap Drive, according to the Corona Fire Department.
Multiple engine crews from Corona and the Riverside County Fire Department encountered flames moving slowly toward a wooded area. Crews had the fire fully contained shortly before 3 p.m.
A bulldozer operator was working on the grounds, apparently removing brush, when the flames erupted, according to reports from the scene.
An fire investigator was summoned to the golf course to determine the exact ignition source.
