About a week ago, I started what I hope to be series of spotlighting young people. My first blog was about my own daughter. Today I am featuring Megan Sincock, a sophmore at Vista Murrieta.
Megan, like my own daughter starts her day off with Seminary at 6 a.m. She then goes directly to school afterward. As for the rest of her "typical" day, she is on the JV softball team for MVHS and goes to softball practice each day. Plus there are at least two games a week. This leaves her getting home around 6 p.m. in time for dinner, homework, and off to bed.
She said despite not winning, she learned a great deal from the experience. It taught her how to take care of herself, how to raise money, how to brand herself and it gave an insight of what she can become. And, "It was A LOT of HARD work!"

When I asked her about her favorite teacher, she named her English teacher, Mrs. Gonzales who she described as an excellent role model and one who always goes the extra mile for her students. She also named her Grandma J. who is strong and someone she looks up to.
Megan loves her public speaking class, which she says can help her pretty much anywhere. As for long term goals, she is setting them in steps. She says wants to obtain a cosmotolgy license in order to get through college. As for her career, she hasn't decided that one yet.

Keeping a high moral standard is also something that is important to Megan. "As a member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it requires me to keep my standards high. I keep these standards in the choices I make everyday by choosing good friends, listening to uplifting music, and just simply being happy. At the end of every day, I make it a goal to ask myself if today was a good day or if it was a great day."
