Lighthouse Food Pantry Receives Certificate of Recognition

Lighthouse Christian Center Food Pantry given certificate of appreciation by Sen. Joel Anderson.

California State Sen. Joel Anderson recently issued a certificate of recognition to the Lighthouse Christian Center Food Pantry on behalf of the State of California.

Tom Rogers, district director for Anderson, presented certificates to Lighthouse Christian Center as well as the individuals who volunteer their time to make the food distribution possible. Receiving certificates were Joyce Cummings and Ramona Pfeiffer, co-directors of the ministry, Assistant Director Bob Cummings, Pastor Bruce Pennington, and volunteers Betty Bauer, Roger Northway and Ellie Lonigan.

The food pantry presently distributes food to about 120 families per month—and growing—from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Lighthouse Christian Center, located off of Winchester Road at 38435 Innovation Court in Murrieta.

Lighthouse is seeing the demand growing at every distribution and if funds and food are available, will increase the frequency to weekly to be able to help more
people. The people of the ministry say that they are blessed to be able to help those in need.

If you know of someone in need who can not travel to pick up food, please call Lighthouse at 951-698-7633 and let them know. A volunteer will bring the food to the people.
