Brush Fire Shuts Down Jefferson Avenue In Murrieta
The non-injury blaze erupted in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Guava Street.

MURRIETA, CA — A brush fire that broke out Monday afternoon in Murrieta has scorched 5-6 acres, though crews have halted its spread, a fire department spokesperson said.
The non-injury blaze erupted just after 2:15 p.m. in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Guava Street.
As of 3:30 p.m., Jefferson remained closed between Guava and Murrieta Hot Springs. The roadway was expected to reopen later Monday, according to Dawn Morrison, spokesperson for Murrieta Fire & Rescue.
No structures were damaged in the fire.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
