IDYLLWILD, CA — The Riverside County mountains gather breathtaking clouds as monsoonal moisture threatens more storms toward the week's end.
Idyllwild resident and Middle Ridge Winery owner Christ Johnston shared this picture with Patch, as he was working in the Indian Wells area.
These clouds were just a preview to this weekend's upcoming projected lightning show.

"This was taken on a hilltop at a country club where I support some microwave equipment," Johnston tells us.
The ballooning cumulonimbus cloud formations were just too breathtaking not to share with everyone.
