CHP Pursuit Ends In Murrieta With Head-On Crash

CHP officials reported serious injuries in the crash.

TEMECULA, CA — A motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday evening following a police chase through parts of Temecula and Murrieta, CHP officials said. The chase ended after the motorcyclist slammed head-on into a sedan.

Officials at the scene said the chase started around 5 p.m. when a CHP officer spotted the motorcyclist speeding on I-15 near Winchester Road. However, the rider did not pull over when promoted, and continued speeding on the freeway, eventually getting onto the 215 and then exiting at Los Alamos.

The rider ultimately turned onto Whitewood Road, where he lost control of his bike and slammed into an approaching Honda sedan head-on, according to the CHP.
