CIF Southern Section Football Polls Released
Vista Murrieta remains at No. 1 while the Nighthawks climb back into the CIF top 10.
Coach Coley Candaele’s Broncos remain the No. 1 team in the Inland Division on everyone’s list and the favorite to repeat as CIF Champions. They are coming off a 52-0 victory over neighbor Murrieta Mesa to clinch a share of the league championship.
Vista Murrieta will face tenth-ranked Chaparral on Friday. The Pumas lost to the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks 41-31 last week and dropped six spots in the polls.
The Nighthawks came back and rose to No. 7 in this week's CIF poll. Although ranked higher by The Press-Enterprise for the past two weeks, Murrieta Valley was dropped from the CIF top 10 last week when they lost to Vista 45-17.

Murrieta Valley Coach Greg Ireland’s Nighthawks will play Temecula Valley at home this weekend.
Asked about his team’s success this year, Coach Ireland said: "They have been resilient all year. We are not big. We are not fast. We are not strong. We have the hearts the size of Texas."

All three local high schools will be home for the season finales. The Chaparral game will be at Vista Murrieta while Murrieta Mesa will be hosting the Wolfpack from Great Oak. Game times are at 7 p.m. There's a lot of great football to watch on Friday night.
