'Cookie Woes' ~ A Sweet Poem
Lynda StarWriter poem about her penchant for cookies 2014
I’ve finally solved my cookie woes,
After years of much duress,
Chocolate chip and shortbread,
Oatmeal, rolled or pressed.
The Keebler elves are saddened,
No more fun in tempting me,
Grandma's lurking everywhere,
With warm hospitality.
Nilla Wafers line tin pans,
Filled with rich banana cream.
Mother's lemon drops do bid,
Inviting Nutter Butter dreams.
Now swirly snicker doodles,
With fine cinnamon atop,
Dipped into my coffee cup,
Moist pieces all kerplop!
Oreos pressed sandwich style,
Melting slowly in my mouth,
Milano's gourmet content,
Will head readily due south.
Famous Amos package filled,
Or Costco's sweet delights,
I'll eat them in one sitting,
Without putting up a fight.
Yes, I've solved my cookie woes,
I indulge my frenzied whims,
I'm jogging up the road apiece,
On the treadmill at the gym.
