Coroner IDs Victim In Menifee Shooting
Kerry Ogarro, 37, was found fatally shot inside a residence in the 26200 block of Bluebell Street.
MENIFEE, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau has identified the victim of a July 4 shooting in Menifee.
Kerry Ogarro, 37, was found fatally shot inside a residence in the 26200 block of Bluebell Street. According to the coroner's bureau, he was shot at 2:18 a.m.
A woman called Menifee police to report that her boyfriend had fired on Ogarro, and when officers got on scene the woman was outside and said her young child, the boyfriend and Ogarro were still inside the home.

The boyfriend, identified as Jeremy Casados, 46, of Menifee refused to come out, Menifee police reported. Negotiators were called in, including the Murrieta Police Department/Hemet Police Department SWAT Team. A K-9 unit from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department was also requested.
Casados finally exited the home and was arrested without incident, Menifee police said.

Despite life-saving attempts, Ogarro was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:19 a.m. July 4. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to police.
The young child was not injured, police said.
Ogarro, Casados and the woman knew each other, police said.
Jail records show Casados was being held at Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of murder. The records also show he was suspected of being drunk at the time of his arrest, which was reported at 3:11 a.m. July 4.
Casados is being held on $1 million bail and is due in court Wednesday.
