FRENCH VALLEY, CA — The Riverside County coroner's bureau released the identity of a 19-year-old Winchester man killed when he lost control of his motorcycle in a French Valley neighborhood.
Ramiro Rizo, a resident of Winchester, was identified as the solo rider who was pronounced dead hours after the crash at a nearby hospital, according to the coroner's report.
Rizo was riding on a 2017 Suzuki GSX-R bike heading eastbound on Abelia Street, just west of Kale Lane, at about 12:42 p.m. Sunday.
He was traveling at approximately 80-90 mph when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the bike and could not recover, according to a preliminary report from the California Highway Patrol.
Rizo was ejected off the motorcycle and suffered significant injuries as a result; he was wearing safety equipment when emergency responders arrived at the scene, according to the CHP.
He was sent via ground ambulance to Wildomar's Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital, but he died as a result of his injuries shortly before 5:45 p.m. that night, the CHP reported.
