MURRIETA, CA — A crash on the southbound Escondido (215) Freeway in Murrieta backed up rush-hour traffic for miles Wednesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 7:22 a.m. at Scott Road. As of 8:15 a.m., the left lane remained blocked, and traffic was backed up to Menifee.

Commuters are advised to avoid the area or expect delays.
