Dancing Tehani

Island hop with Dancing Tehani on Monday, March 12, at 4 p.m. in the Murrieta Public Library Community Room! The whole family is invited to participate in the dances and rhythms from the islands of Polynesia as well as learn about the geography and culture of many of the islands of Polynesia in this fun program.

Jennifer Tehani Surreal demonstrates a variety of participatory dances featuring Polynesian, folk and other dances from around the Pacific. Everyone learns how to dance in this multicultural program where many of the islands of Polynesia including, Hawaii, Samoa, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Fiji, Tahiti, Tonga and Marquesas will be featured. “This is a great opportunity for the families of this community to learn more about Polynesian cultures,” says Youth Services Librarian, Allison Eagans. “It will be exciting to learn more about these islands through hula, Tahitian dance, and more!”

This event is free and open to public and is sponsored by the Friends of the Murrieta Public Library. The Murrieta Public Library is located at Eight Town Square (Adams Avenue and Kalmia Street). For more information about the program call (951) 304-BOOK (2665) or visit the Library’s web site at www.murrietalibrary.info.
