MURRIETA, CA — Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta is expanding its campus, it was announced Tuesday. The work is expected to get underway immediately and will occur in phases over the next three years, according to parent company Southwest Healthcare System. The financial details were not available, but are expected to be released soon, according to SHS.

The expansion, which also includes some renovation work, will focus on women’s and children’s services, the Emergency Department, and "other key clinical offerings," according to the SHS announcement.

More than 35 years ago, Rancho Springs broke ground in Murrieta. The facility has been renovated and updated in the past, "but nothing of this magnitude," according to Neet.

“The meticulous attention to every detail and the hours of planning and preparation for this kind of project takes a massive team effort and we are very excited to get the project started," Neet said.

During the expansion and renovation work, Rancho Springs will remain open for patient care "with minimum disruption," according to the SHS announcement.

SHS is also the parent of Wildomar-based Inland Valley Medical Center.
