Fire Breaks Out Off 215 Freeway, Crews On Scene

The fire has prompted a freeway lane closure.

MENIFEE, CA — A small fire broke out alongside the northbound I-215 in the Menifee area on Wednesday, prompting a lane closure as crews doused the flames, Patch has learned. The fire is burning just south of Ethanac Road.

California Highway Patrol logs indicated the blaze was first reported at 10:32 a.m.

Riverside County Fire Department officials tell Patch that the brush fire is about a quarter acre in size, but crews needed to shut down the number three lane in the area while they were on scene. Crews expected to be in the area until about 11:30 a.m.
