Gas Prices Near Murrieta Rise for Seventh Day

Prices at the gas pump continue to climb higher.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose Wednesday for the seventh consecutive day, increasing a half-cent to $2.774.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has risen 5.9 cents over the past seven days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 10.5 cents more than one month ago but 19.9 cents less than one year ago.

The rising pump prices follow an increase in wholesale prices stemming from technical issues at at least one Los Angeles County refinery, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
