Harley Rider Critically Injured In Menifee Crash, Arrest Made

The victim was riding his Harley-Davidson westbound on Highway 74 when a pickup driver turned in front of him, according to police.

MENIFEE, CA — A motorcyclist was severely injured in a collision with a suspected drunken driver who turned in front of him at a Menifee intersection, authorities said Monday.

The crash happened about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on eastbound Highway 74 at Trumble Road, according to the Menifee Police Department.

Sgt. Matthew Bloch said the victim, whose name was not released, was riding his Harley-Davidson westbound on the 74 when 31-year-old Nathan Stipp of Menifee initiated a left turn in his Toyota pickup truck from eastbound lanes — directly in front the motorcyclist.

The rider remains in critical condition, according to the sergeant.

Stipp was arrested without incident and booked into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury.

He's being held on $50,000 bail.
